Features and Devices

Here you'll find devices, adapters and software features that are currently in development or planned for implementation into the device programmers GALEP-4, GALEP-5 or GALEP-5D. New features will be available in free updates. The development schedule mainly depends on Device on Demand requests and chip programmer forum suggestions. Please note that all features and dates listed here are subject to change.

Upcoming Software Updates (free)
Faster Startup. A software update, scheduled for November 2008, will build the device tree ten times faster than the current version, and greatly reduce the startup time of the GALEP5 software.
Linux Version. A new software generation for GALEP-5 and GALEP-5D will run under Windows as well as under Linux. The software will be available as a free update for all GALEP users. Estimated release date: January 2009.
Mac Version. GALEP for Mac OS will be available as a free update for all GALEP-5/5D users. Estimated release date: February 2009.
OpenAlgo SDK. A software development kit for users to implement their own device algorithms in GALEP-5 and GALEP-5D. This development kit offers an easy approach not only for device implementation, but also for using GALEP for special purposes that we haven't yet thought of! Estimated release date: January 2009.
GALEP-5D Stand Alone Production Mode. The new production mode allows using GALEP-5D in mass production either connected to a LAN server that provides the programming data, or totally without a PC. In the latter case the programming data can be stored on SD card. Operation is super-simple: just insert the device and press the start button. Estimated release date: December 2008.
GALEP-5D Gang Programming Mode. Connect an arbitrary number of GALEP-5D programmers to a single PC via USB or LAN, and use them for continuous gang programming. Estimated release date: December 2008.
GALEP-5 Gang Programming Mode. Connect up to 7 GALEP-5 programmers to a single PC with an USB port extender, and use them for continuous gang programming. Estimated release date: December 2008.
