Mapping of Configuration Registers in the GALEP-4 Data Buffer

Unless otherwise indicated by the device's manufacturer, the optional configuration data are mapped in the data buffer of the Galep-4 immediately after the last address of the regular data buffer.

Example:

In a device with 2kByte storage capacity occupying the address area between 0 and 7FFh, this optional configuration data would be located at the address 800h.

For devices with memories organized in 16 or 32 bits, this would result in a word address for the configuration data twice or four times as high.

Example:

In a 2k * 16Bit organized device with an address range from 0 - 7FFh - the GALEP-4 data buffer would occupy the address range between 0 and 7FFh. Therefore the configuration data would be mapped starting at the address 1000h.
